Volume Assessments

The Cliquidity System

The Cliquidity System

Part 1 of 2

By Paul Barrett

The Cliquidity volume assessment system offers an integrated and automated psychological assessment and screening solution for clients looking for an economic /cost effective, efficient, and practical solution for volume assessment of candidates or their existing workforce. Its web-delivered, mobile-ready assessments are unique and more psychologically comprehensive than most, as you’d expect from Cognadev test designers.

The application offers short psychometric assessments with candidate responses analysed automatically using advanced, algorithm-based scoring techniques coupled with “on completion” auto-generated reports providing relevant score-magnitudes and explaining the assessed concepts in simple terms. These reports are instantly available for on-screen viewing or pdf-format document downloads. Cliquidity can be used as a self-contained online cloud-based system to invite candidates, download reports, manage their assessment data, and search for potential candidates.

More comprehensive information on Cliquidity is available from part 3 of the blog-series – Volume Assessments on Social Media: Cliquidity.

Part 1: The Cliquidity Competency Model

The Cliquidity Competency model is the result of expert-judgement rules applied to the information embodied within the Cliquidity Personality, Motivation, and CARA (Cliquidity Adaptive Reasoning Assessment) tests. Constituent component scores are generated from these assessments using content-analytic and inferential algorithms. From these constituent attributes, scores on four Intra- and Interpersonal (Soft Skills) and five Work-Related Orientations (Work Orientations) are generated.

The Cliquidity Competencies defined

The four Intra- and Interpersonal (Soft Skills) are defined as:

These Cliquidity soft-skills are precisely those identified as “social skills” in the recent National Bureau of Economic Research paper, the abstract to which is:

“We use a unique corpus of job descriptions for C-suite positions to document skills requirements in top managerial occupations across a large sample of firms. A novel algorithm maps the text of each executive search into six separate skill clusters reflecting cognitive, interpersonal, and operational dimensions. The data show an increasing relevance of social skills in top managerial occupations, and a greater emphasis on social skills in larger and more information intensive organizations. The results suggest the need for training, search and governance mechanisms able to facilitate the match between firms and top executives along multiple and imperfectly observable skills”.

And, in a recent (December 27th, 2021) article in the Financial Times, authored by the editorial board, entitled: “Turbulence ahead: new leaders required”, this paragraph-extract again underlines the significance of Soft Skills assessments in recruitment and workplace settings:

“The [pandemic] crisis of 2020-21 boosted compassion, communication, and collaboration — once derided as “soft” skills — to the top of the list of leadership traits. Corporate leaders have also had to demonstrate a fourth C — competence — across a broader set of issues than those faced by their predecessors”.

The Cliquidity Competency report also assesses five Work-Related Orientations (Work Orientations), which are defined as:

The score-levels on both the soft skills and work -orientation attributes vary between 1 and 5, with each level indicating:

In part 2 of this two-part series, we introduce the Soft-Skills-Matrix. This unique attribute matrix expands the fundamental soft-skills assessment into a more detailed picture of the interaction between an individual’s soft-skills and the work contexts within which an individual might be best suited/optimally deployed.
